STANDOFFS
Standoffs are mechanical spacers used to create a fixed distance between two components, commonly found in electronics, mechanical assemblies, and structural applications where alignment, insulation, or clearance is required. They come in various materials depending on the application—aluminum for lightweight and corrosion resistance, stainless steel for strength and durability, brass for conductivity and corrosion resistance, and nylon or plastic for non-conductive or lightweight needs. To enhance performance and longevity, standoffs often receive surface treatments such as anodizing (for aluminum), zinc plating or passivation (for steel), and nickel plating (for brass), providing added protection against wear, corrosion, or electrical interference.
